Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Kingsley Coman, who is valued at €60 million by Bayern Munich, this summer.

According to a report by Transfer Market Web, Manchester United have turned their attention towards Kingsley Coman over a move in the summer transfer window. The French forward has rejected a new contract offer from Bayern Munich and could be available for €60 million.

Coman initially arrived on loan at Bayern Munich from Juventus in the summer of 2015 before his move was made permanent two years later. However, a spate of injuries has hampered the French international’s progress, thereby also robbing him of a regular place in the first-team setup.

Nevertheless, a record of 39 goals and 48 assists in 188 appearances is quite solid for a player who is theoretically yet to hit his peak. Coman, though, is facing an uncertain future at Bayern, having rejected their proposal for a new contract, as per the report. With his current deal running out in a little over two years, a summer move could be on the cards, which has alerted Manchester United.

This is not the first time that Manchester United have been linked with Coman. However, for the first time in a long while, it would feel like the Frenchman is an attainable target. The interest in the 24-year-old also makes a great deal of sense.

For years, Manchester United have been desperate to find a solution to their issues on the right wing, with their attacking moves stemming heavily from the left-hand channel. This season, Mason Greenwood has experienced the dreaded second season blues and it appears as if he could be better suited through the middle after all.

While Manchester United have signed Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo in the past year, the duo need to be nourished, meaning the Red Devils need a solution for the now. To that end, Christian Pulisic is another player who has been linked with Manchester United, although it is unlikely that Chelsea will sell to a direct rival, meaning Coman is much more viable a target for United.

Having said that, the Premier League heavyweights will need to splash the big bucks if they are to secure the services of Coman, who has a €60 million price tag. It will now be interesting to see if Manchester United are ready to meet Bayern’s valuation of the French forward, or if they can drive down the asking price.
