Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly keen on signing Achraf Hakimi from Inter Milan in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Daily Telegraph, Achraf Hakimi could be on the move in the summer transfer window owing to owners Suning Holdings Group’s financial woes. Keeping an eye on his situation are Arsenal and Chelsea, who could make a move for the Moroccan international soon.

Hakimi joined Inter Milan from Real Madrid last summer and after a brief teething period, he has established himself as a key figure for the Nerazzurri. So far this season, the 22-year-old has a solid tally of 6 goals and 6 assists in 33 appearances across all competitions.

However, the former Real Madrid defender could be on his way out of Inter Milan just one year after arriving at San Siro due to the ongoing financial troubles that owners Suning Holdings Group are currently facing. In order to raise funds, the Nerazzurri could, therefore, cash in on a number of stars, including Hakimi. And such a situation has alerted Arsenal and Chelsea.

Arsenal have been reported to be in the market for a right-back ahead of the summer transfer window, with Hector Bellerin being heavily linked with several big-name clubs. If the Spaniard ends up calling it quits at the Emirates, the Gunners will be in need of a replacement, making Hakimi a viable target.

As for Chelsea, the report claims that Hakimi is not being viewed as a potential competitor for Reece James but as an option in midfield or attack. With Hakim Ziyech being linked with Atletico Madrid in recent weeks, a spot in the side could open up, although it will be interesting to see how the former Real Madrid full-back settles in a role in midfield or attack.

It has previously been suggested that Hakimi will be open to a move to the Premier League and if he is made available for a move in the summer, it will not be a surprise to see him make his way to London. Having said that, it will be interesting to see if Arsenal or Chelsea do indeed make a move for the 22-year-old and what price Inter command for him.
