Ronald Araujo is in contention to feature while Ousmane Dembele and Antoine Griezmann are set to start when Barcelona face Sevilla in La Liga on Saturday.

Barcelona will be aiming to close the gap to the top of the table when they face off against Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in La Liga this weekend. Heading into the game, Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman has been handed an injury boost as defender Ronald Araujo is fit again and is in contention to feature against Julen Lopetegui’s side.

Speaking of the Uruguayan in his pre-match presser (h/t Barca Blaugranes), Koeman said: “He’s in the squad and has the same chances as everyone else to play. We’ll see tomorrow if he’ll play. He’s been having a great season and has shown his quality and physicality. It’s really important to have people like him in the team.”

However, Araujo is unlikely to be rushed back on Saturday with Koeman likely to save him for the Copa del Rey semi-final against the same opposition next midweek. That should mean Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti should once again pair up at the heart of the Barcelona defence on Saturday.

Sergi Roberto remains sidelined, so the right-back slot will be a toss-up between Oscar Mingueza and Sergino Dest. The latter could get a run-out at the weekend after having only made an appearance from the bench against Elche last time out. Jordi Alba is a certainty at left-back while Marc-Andre ter Stegen should continue to man the Barcelona goal.

Miralem Pjanic failed to make the most of his chance in midweek against Elche and should make way for Sergio Busquets at the base of the Catalans’ midfield on Saturday afternoon. Frenkie de Jong and Pedri are surefire starters in the remaining two midfield slots to provide the attacking impetus from the centre.

Martin Braithwaite had a good game against Elche last time out but is likely to make way for Antoine Griezmann on the left flank while Ousmane Dembele should get the nod over Francisco Trincao ought on the right-wing. Spearheading the attack for Barcelona against Sevilla will be captain Lionel Messi, aiming to repeat his heroics from the midweek encounter.

Barcelona Predicted Starting XI: ter Stegen; Dest, Pique, Umtiti, Alba; de Jong, Busquets, Pedri; Dembele, Messi, Griezmann.
