Manchester United are ready to lure Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman to Old Trafford with a bumper £260k a week contract offer.

Following David Alaba, Kingsley Coman could become the latest player to leave Allianz Arena in the summer, according to SportBild, as relayed by Daily Mail. Manchester United are already keeping a close eye on his contract situation at Bayern Munich, who are keen on extending his current deal that expires in 2023.

There is a fear in the Bayern camp that Coman may snub a new contract offer, in favour of a move to Old Trafford. Man United, in fact, are even willing to double his current wages with a sensational £260k a week contract offer as the Premier League giants look to take a page out of the Alaba book.

The Austrian international, earlier this season, ran into discrepancies with the Bayern Munich board over a new contract extension. The reports had claimed that the defender was unhappy with the terms the club was offering and he was hoping for higher wages. He has now publicly voiced his departure at the end of the season, with reports linking with a move to Real Madrid.

Man United are now looking to follow the same method with Coman, who has been in terrific form this season.

In 17 Bundesliga matches, the Frenchman has been involved in 12 goals including nine assists. His consistent performances on the left flank have been crucial in a campaign where star players like Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane haven’t quite performed up to speed. It is also the reason why Bayern Munich are so determined to fend off suitors by tying the winger down to a new contract.

Desperately looking for a winger in the summer, Coman could be an ideal fit at Manchester United. His trickery, speed and ability to take on defenders make him a tailor-made fit for Ole-Gunnar Solskjaer’s attacking unit that has constantly improved this season.

It could further be strengthened by the addition of the Bayern winger, whose partnership alongside the likes of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Bruno Fernandes could even make the Red Devils a legitimate title contender.

However, the club needs to be aware of the player’s poor fitness record. In fact, he is one of the most injury-prone players in Europe, having suffered several spells out on the sidelines during his time at Bayern Munich, Juventus and PSG.

It makes him quite a shrewd option for the Premier League and one could still argue that Jadon Sancho would still be a better option as the Englishman is not only younger but also represents better brand value.
