Dean Henderson will come in for David de Gea while Paul Pogba misses out due to injury when Manchester United face West Ham United in the FA Cup fifth round.

Manchester United will be aiming to reach the FA Cup quarter-finals when they play hosts to West Ham United at Old Trafford on Tuesday night. And, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a pressing injury concern to deal with ahead of his side’s latest fixture.

Paul Pogba sustained a thigh injury in Manchester United’s Premier League game against Everton this past weekend, and is set to be sidelined for a few weeks. Apart from Pogba, Solskjaer is also missing the services of a couple of other players, and while speaking to the Manchester United media, he provided an update on Eric Bailly and Phil Jones.

The Manchester United boss said, “Eric is getting better. He’s still not available for the Cup game tomorrow we don’t think. He’s been out on the grass and training and we’ll make a decision tomorrow. I don’t think he’ll be involved. Everyone [else] is available and trained this morning, apart from Phil [Jones] who’s still out.”

Solskjaer also spoke about Pogba’s injury layoff and the possible duration of his absence, saying, “It’s an injury that will take a few weeks to heal. He’s just started his recovery, working with the medical staff and we’ll get him back as soon and as safely as we can. Of course, Paul has been very important for us and we’re not going to take any risks. [So it is] A few weeks definitely.”

Pogba’s absence means Solskjaer will likely prefer Fred and Scott McTominay in the midfield double pivot, with Nemanja Matic set to be excluded again. Bruno Fernandes should continue reprising the no. 10 role, meaning Donny van de Beek will continue his stint on the bench.

The attack, though, should see one change, with Marcus Rashford likely to be afforded a breather. In his stead, Anthony Martial ought to start on the left flank, while Mason Greenwood is a certainty on the right-wing. Edinson Cavani will continue to lead the line for Manchester United against West Ham.

Finally, in defence, another change could be in the offing, with Luke Shaw being rested and Alex Telles being given a chance to impress. Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof will once again pair up at the heart of the Manchester United defence, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka starting as the right-back. In goal, Dean Henderson should come in for David de Gea, as has been the case all through the season in cup competitions.

Manchester United Predicted XI: Henderson; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Telles; McTominay, Fred; Greenwood, Bruno Fernandes, Martial; Cavani
