Liverpool have reportedly sent scouts to keep a close eye on Raphinha this season and have been “blown away” by his progress.

According to a report by Football Insider, Raphinha appears to be the subject of interest from Liverpool over a possible move in the summer transfer window. The Premier League champions’ scouts have been “blown away” by the 24-year-old Brazilian winger’s progress at Leeds United, as they assess their options for the summer.

Raphinha joined Leeds United from Rennes last summer in a deal worth £17 million. The young forward has proven to be worth every penny, with a solid tally of 4 goals and 4 assists in 16 Premier League appearances till date.

Having established himself as a regular in Marcelo Bielsa’s side while also regularly chipping in with goals or assists, the 24-year-old has gone on to attract himself to one of the biggest clubs in all of Europe and the reigning Premier League champions Liverpool.

The report claims that Liverpool have been closely monitoring the progress over the course of the ongoing campaign and scouts who have been in attendance at Leeds United’s game are said to have been “blown away” by the progress he has made since joining from Rennes. Liverpool’s interest in Raphinha makes a great deal of sense.

As suggested by Diogo Jota’s impact since arriving from Wolves last summer, the right kind of signing can make a great deal of difference, especially with Jurgen Klopp refraining from banking on Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri unless absolutely necessary. In fact, both Shaqiri and Origi were linked with a possible January exit from Anfield before they ended up staying put at the club.

However, both the players’ future is uncertain, which means Liverpool will likely have to delve into the transfer market in search of attacking reinforcements. The Reds have indeed been scouting with other attacking options as well, with Sporting Lisbon star Pote reportedly on their radar.

As for Raphinha, his impressive progress has prompted Liverpool to assess their options ahead of the summer transfer window. The report, though, suggests that the Merseyside giants are unlikely to be the only club following Raphinha and it will be interesting to see if they are joined by others in pursuit of the 24-year-old Brazilian winger.
