N’Golo Kante should return to the lineup while Timo Werner and Mason Mount are also in line to start when Chelsea face off against Burnley this weekend.

Chelsea will be gunning to pick up their first win under new manager Thomas Tuchel when they lock horns with Burnley at Stamford Bridge on Sunday noon in the Premier League.

Ahead of the game, the Blues have been handed a major injury boost as N’Golo Kante is fit again after having missed the last few matches with a hamstring issue. Speaking of his squad in his pre-match presser, Tuchel said, “N’Golo Kante came back today so we have 22 players plus the goalkeepers for our programme in the three competitions.”

With no roster issues, Tuchel should be able to field his strongest starting XI on Sunday in search of his first win as the Chelsea manager. The 47-year-old is likely to stick with the three-man defensive setup he used in his debut game against Wolves, with Edouard Mendy stationed in goal.

Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger ought to hold on to their spots at the back, but there could be one change as Kurt Zouma may come into the side to replace Cesar Azpilicueta to better cope with the physical threat of the Burnley forwards.

Callum Hudson-Odoi was the star performer for Chelsea against Wolves and should be retained in his new wing-back role on the right flank on Sunday. On the opposite flank, England international Ben Chilwell is a certainty to feature.

The returning Kante should walk right back into the starting XI, with Tuchel expressing his eagerness to work with the Frenchman. “He is a big, big helper for everybody, with the mentality of a helper. At the same time, Kante is a world-class player who played a crucial role in the World Cup win for France and that is why it is super-important for me to have him,” he said.

Mason Mount, too, should get a starting berth in midfield as his abilities could come in handy against a Burnley outfit that is likely to sit deep and defend. Both Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic should drop out of the lineup on Sunday. Hakim Ziyech and Kai Havertz ought to be retained in the two attacking midfield slots.

Olivier Giroud started the last game as the lone forward for Chelsea. But, Tuchel might look to hand marquee summer signing Timo Werner a chance to come good against Burnley on Sunday noon.

Chelsea Predicted XI: Mendy; Zouma, Silva, Rudiger; Hudson-Odoi, Kante, Mount, Chilwell; Ziyech, Havertz; Werner
