Premier League giants including Manchester United and Liverpool are on red alert as Bayern Munich reach an impasse over Jamal Musiala extension talks.

A new report from Goal regarding the future of Jamal Musiala could be a massive boost for Premier League clubs Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool, as the Bayern Munich attacker has reached a deadlock with the club over a contract extension.

After making his breakthrough in the Bundesliga this season, the Englishman is demanding a bumper £100,000 per week contract from Bayern, leaving the Bundesliga giants unsure over their decision to keep hold of his services. Musiala’s current contract at the Allianz Arena expires at the end of next season, but the lack of a breakthrough in the extension talks could lead to a potential transfer.

It has put Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool on red alert, as they look to bring Musiala back to England. The youngster was initially a part of the Chelsea youth academy before moving to Bavaria in the summer of 2019. Born in Stuttgart, the attacker has also represented both England and Germany in the youth international levels.

At Bayern, the 17-year-old has enjoyed a rapid rise to prominence. He gained a promotion to the senior side in the summer, after initially making his Bundesliga debut at the back-end of last season. This term, he has netted three goals in 12 league appearances, becoming an excellent alternative for the likes of Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman and Thomas Muller.

Musiala has broken several records as well, notably becoming Bayern’s youngest ever goalscorer when he netted a late goal in the 8-0 rout over FC Schalke. And after Jadon Sancho, he is expected to become the next big English star in the Bundesliga and perhaps even a potential long-term replacement for Muller in the number ten slot.

That could now be in doubt in Bayern Munich struggle to meet the player’s wage demands. As mentioned earlier, the three Premier League giants are keen on securing the services of Musiala, with Manchester City, in particular, hoping to make up for the mistake they had made by initially selling Sancho to Borussia Dortmund.

As for Manchester United, Musiala could be an interesting alternative as they continue to scour the market for a winger. The Red Devils have reportedly set to reopen talks regarding Sancho, while their arch-rivals Liverpool are hoping to find long-term attacking options who can carry the torch once the likes of Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane depart Anfield.

It is still too early to predict the future of Musiala at the moment, but Bayern Munich’s stance on the ongoing impasse could radically change, especially if the Englishman continues to perform well in the Bundesliga during the remainder of the campaign. Till then, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool will continue monitoring his situation at the Allianz Arena.
