Manchester United have reportedly reignited their interest in Norwich City right-back Max Aarons, who has a £20 million price tag.

According to an exclusive report by The Sun, Max Aarons has emerged on the radar of Manchester United once again. The Premier League heavyweights, though, will need to wait till the summer transfer window to secure the services of the Englishman, who is valued at £20 million by Norwich City.

Max Aarons began his youth career at Luton Town before finishing his footballing education at Norwich City. After joining the Canaries’ academy in 2016, the player made an instant impression before making grade in the first-team setup at the onset of the 2018/19 season; the promising right-back, in fact, went on make the Championship Team of the Season that term.

Having secured promotion to the Premier League last season, Norwich struggled to mount much of a challenge to stay put in the top-flight. Aarons, though, steadily improved over the course of the campaign and has continued being a key member Daniel Farke’s squad. His progress has been duly noted once again, with Manchester United hot on his trails.

The interest from Manchester United is nothing new, with the Red Devils also having considered a move for him in the summer transfer window. United had also pondered a transfer in 2019 before they ended up securing the services of Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The rekindling of their pursuit makes a lot of sense, though.

While Wan-Bissaka has been a decent addition to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad, he is quite one dimensional in his style of play. The 23-year-old’s struggles in the final third have rightly created the need for a right-back who can prove to be an efficient outlet in the final third, which explains Manchester United’s interest in Alvaro Odriozola, with Aarons now on their radar once again.

The Premier League heavyweights are also set to be forced into the market for a right-back anyway, with Timothy Fosu-Mensah set to depart Old Trafford after rejecting a new deal. Meanwhile, Diogo Dalot is expected to leave Manchester United permanently once he returns from his loan spell at AC Milan.

To that end, Aarons is a viable target for the Red Devils, who will need to shell out £20 million. This valuation makes the 20-year-old an even more appealing a prospect for Manchester United; and even though Norwich City do not have a desperate need to cash in on their young full-back, the player himself is keen on an exit.

The report, though, claims that Manchester United may have to wait till the summer in order to mount a move for Aarons. For now, it looks like Manchester United have reignited their pursuit of Aarons, and it remains to be seen if they end up landing him ahead of the 2021/22 season.
