Real Madrid have reportedly been informed that they will need to fork out a sum of €30 million to secure the services of Christopher Nkunku.

According to a report by French outlet Le 10 Sport, Real Madrid know the valuation they must meet to sign Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig. The French midfielder has a €30 million price tag, although he is not looking to leave the Bundesliga outfit anytime soon.

Nkunku joined RB Leipzig from PSG in the summer of 2019 and has since made some massive strides at the Red Bull Arena. The 23-year-old had always been touted for a bright future, but left the French heavyweights after being deprived of regular starts at Parc des Princes.

Now seen as one of the brightest young midfielders within the Bundesliga, the Frenchman has gone on to amass 60 appearances for Leipzig, with 8 goals and 20 assists to show for his efforts. His progress has invariably been noticed by a number of top clubs across Europe. Arsenal are reported to have continued keeping him in their sights, but the big interest comes from Real Madrid.

The fact that Real Madrid are keeping tabs on Nkunku makes a great deal of sense. Luka Modric is in the twilight of his career and while he is enjoying a pleasantly surprising renaissance, the reality remains that he is fast approaching the final years of his illustrious career.

The presence of Martin Odegaard means that Real Madrid can rest easy for now. However, they do need to lay down a succession plan for Modric, making Nkunku a viable target. While the French midfielder is primarily an attacking midfielder, he is equally adept at essaying the role that Modric plays at Real Madrid while also being capable of making an impact from either flank.

Therefore, it is not surprising that, as per the report, Zinedine Zidane is eager to secure the services of the 23-year-old sooner rather than later. And now, Real Madrid know the price they must pay to land Nkunku, with Le 10 Sport claiming that he has a €30 million valuation.

Having said that, it has also been claimed that Nkunku is content at Leipzig and is not entertaining the idea of leaving. Nevertheless, his price tag might not be too restrictive for Real Madrid, who are unlikely to make a signing for a second successive transfer window; and it remains to be seen if they launch the offensive for the former PSG midfielder with a €30 million bid in the summer.
