Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Emiliano Buendia, who is priced at £15 million, and will soon enter talks with Norwich City over a move.

According to Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Emiliano Buendia is the subject of interest from Arsenal over a possible move in the future. The Argentine has a £15 million price tag, with Norwich City bracing themselves for discussions with Arsenal, which would begin soon.

Buendia joined Norwich City from Getafe in the summer of 2018 and has since been one of their most consistent players. The 24-year-old was mightily impressive in his maiden Premier League campaign last term, boasting some of the best creative numbers in the competition, even as the Canaries went right back down to the second division.

The Argentine has continued to keep up his levels in the Championship, creating the most chances from open play while having a return of 6 goals and 7 assists in 17 appearances. Having continued to impress in the second tier, Buendia has seen interest in him resurface, with Arsenal now on his trails.

The interest from Arsenal does make sense considering their struggles in the final third this term. In fact, the 3-1 win over Chelsea this past weekend was only the fourth instance when the Gunners have managed to find the back of the net more than once in a Premier League game this term.

The issues majorly arise from a severe lack of creativity in their open play, be it from midfield or higher up the pitch. To fix this problem, Arsenal are believed to be in the market for a creative midfielder, with Morgan Sanson the latest to have emerged on their radar.

As far as options out wide are concerned, SC Braga star Galeno has been identified as a target, but Buendia might be a more viable option or Arsenal. The 24-year-old is already well versed with the rigours of the Premier League and might not experience many teething problems at the Emirates.

That he does not shy away from putting in the hard yards off the ball means he will fit in Mikel Arteta’s system quite well, all while offering the creative outlet that Arsenal so sorely need. And, the Gunners are set to enter negotiations with Norwich over a move for the player, who is valued at £15 million.

Konur has suggested that Arteta is dissatisfied with Willian, which has prompted him to ask for a move for Buendia. His £15 million valuation might not be too restrictive for Arsenal either and it now remains to be seen if Arsenal do end up launching the offensive for the 24-year-old soon.
