Manchester United are reportedly showing an interest in Ismaila Sarr as an alternative to Jadon Sancho and have already enquired Watford over a possible move.

According to a report by Daily Telegraph, Ismaila Sarr is the subject of interest from Manchester United. The Premier League heavyweights have approached Watford over the possibility of signing the 22-year-old, who is among the options considered as part of the contingency plan for Jadon Sancho.

Throughout the summer transfer window, the big talking point pertaining to Manchester United has been the Jadon Sancho saga. That the English international is a target for the Red Devils is, by now, an open secret. However, for a long time, United and Borussia Dortmund have been at an impasse due to differences over the valuation of the player.

With less than a week remaining for the window to slam shut, Manchester United need to act fast if they are to bolster the right side of their attack. As a result, the Premier League heavyweights have had to identify possible alternatives, including Kingsley Coman, among several others. Another such player is Ismaila Sarr.

The Senegalese winger joined Watford last summer in a big-money deal. And after a difficult start to life at Vicarage Road, he settled in well and produced several important performances for the Hornets. However, ever since Watford were relegated to the Championship, there have been suggestions that Sarr could end up leaving as a result.

Linked with Liverpool for some time, Sarr is now on the radars of Manchester United. In fact, the Red Devils have gone ahead an submitted an enquiry to Watford over the possibility of snapping up the young winger before the summer transfer window closes.

Watford, though, are eager to recoup £40 million in order to part ways with Sarr. Manchester United’s decision to go after him makes sense as well, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer having very little quality in terms of a right wing options.

What now remains to be seen is if Manchester United take big steps towards finally completing their second signing of the summer transfer window. For now, it looks like Sarr could be an alternative for Jadon Sancho, whose prospects of joining Manchester United remain up in the air.
