Leeds United have enquired about the possibility of signing Liverpool’s offensive duo of Divock Origi and Rhian Brewster this summer.

According to Mirror, Leeds United are hopeful of a sensational swoop for Liverpool duo Divock Origi and Rhian Brewster this summer. Origi, in particular, has been eyed as the primary alternative, should they fail in their pursuit of the top target, Odsonne Edouard of Celtic.

Origi, who is tipped to leave Anfield this summer, has already been linked with a move to Aston Villa earlier this month. Aside from the Belgian, Leeds United are also keen on Liverpool’s academy sensation, Rhian Brewster. They are reportedly willing to loan the youngster, in addition to signing Origi on a permanent deal.

Brewster has already enjoyed a fruitful loan spell at Swansea City this past season, scoring ten goals in just 20 Championship matches. His contributions in front of goal were critical in taking the club close to clinching Premier League promotion before they fell short in the playoffs.

As far as Leeds United are concerned, the double swoop for Origi and Brewster makes sense as a lack of productivity is one of the club’s key issues heading into the new season. Their main forward, Patrick Bamford, is not exactly a lethal goalscorer and is also yet to make his mark in the Premier League.

That is where the experience of Origi could come in useful. And in Brewster, they will have a young, talented forward who is hungry to make a name for himself, at the highest level of football.

For Liverpool, releasing Origi and shipping Brewster out on loan could prove to be beneficial for multiple reasons. The Reds are quite intent on reforming their offensive unit this summer as they look to add proper back-up for first-choice striker Roberto Firmino and the two wide attackers in Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

Origi is certainly not a part of Jurgen Klopp’s plan for the future and his sale could, therefore, boost the club financially. As for Brewster, a loan move to Elland Road is just the thing he needs before he can truly announce himself and prove his credentials, especially at this level of football.

However, with Leeds United already having invested a lot in the market, it remains to be seen whether or not these two individuals can fit Andrea Radrizzani’s business model at Elland Road this summer.
