Diogo Dalot will fill in for Luke Shaw while Daniel James could replace Mason Greenwood when Manchester United take on Crystal Palace.
Manchester United will hope to bounce back after a late equaliser ruined their Top 4 party against Southampton on Monday. They will look to get back go winning ways on Thursday, when they travel to London to lock horns with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
There have been a few developments from the game with Southampton. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is sweating over the fitness of three first-team players, namely Brandom Williams, Luke Shaw and Mason Greenwood. He addressed their potential availability in his pre-match conference.
“I’ll give Luke as much time as possible, him and Mason, their ankles are swollen and a bit blown up. I’ll give them as much recovery time as possible to give them a chance. Brandon should be fine, he has a gash over the eye but if he can see out of it then… we’ve not trained obviously this morning yet but we’ll hopefully have two, maybe all three of them.”
It would be safe to predict that none of the three will start against Crystal Palace. Diogo Dalot will replace Shaw at left-back after having spent a lot of time there under Jose Mourinho. Dalot will be partnered by Aaron Wan-Bissaka on the right flank.
Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof will continue at the heart of the Manchester United defence. This back four will be given the responsibility of shielding David de Gea, who will hold the fort in the six-yard box for Manchester United.
In midfield, we can expect Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic to continue as the double pivot. The former was subbed off at the hour mark after a sub-par performance and will have had plenty of time to recover.
Bruno Fernandes will retain his spot in the no. 10 slot. Greenwood might not be fit to start and will be replaced by Daniel James, who will get his first start after five cameo appearances from the bench. The left flank will be covered by Marcus Rashford.
Anthony Martial has been in sublime form since the resumption of the Premier League. The Frenchman scored his 50th goal for Manchester United in the Premier League against Southampton, finding his place in the top 10 goalscorers for the club and he will be eager to continue his fine run against Crystal Palace.
