Juventus are reportedly willing to offer Chelsea former Arsenal man Aaron Ramsey in a move that will them sign Jorginho in a swap deal.

According to a report by Italian outlet Tuttosport, Chelsea could soon be offered the prospect of signing Aaron Ramsey in the summer transfer window. Juventus are hoping to lure the Blues to part ways with Jorginho in a swap deal involving the former Arsenal midfielder.

Jorginho joined Chelsea in the summer of 2018 soon after Maurizio Sarri was named as the club’s new manager. Sarri has since gone off to Juventus, where he has not entirely impressed, but his former charge has enjoyed a fine season, having also been promoted to the role of being the Blues’ vice-captain.

Meanwhile, Ramsey joined Juventus after his decade-long stint at Arsenal ended last summer. The Welsh midfielder was off to a slow start at the Allianz Stadium, with injury pegging him back. So far though, he has turned out 29 times for the Bianconeri and has gone in and out of the side of late. It now seems as if Ramsey could possibly be on his way to Chelsea, if Tuttosport are to be believed.

The Italian outlet has suggested that the Serie A champions are eager to get their hands on Jorginho, reuniting him with his former Napoli and Chelsea boss Sarri. However, instead of paying cash to sign the 28-year-old, Juventus are hoping to use ex-Arsenal midfielder Ramsey as bait.

The swap deal does make sense for Juventus, as new signing Arthur Melo will take up positions that Ramsey is usually deployed in. And, with Miralem Pjanic on his way to Barcelona, the Italian giants need a deep lying playmaker to fit Sarri’s system, meaning Jorginho, who is accustomed to the manager’s ways, is a viable target.

As for Chelsea, swapping Jorginho with Ramsey would mean N’Golo Kante will be able to play as a holding midfielder, opening up a space for a box-to-box midfielder, where the former Arsenal star can ideally fit. However, after spending over a decade at Arsenal, it is unlikely that the 29-year-old would accept a move to Chelsea.

Instead, Adrien Rabiot, who is an alternative for Ramsey in the swap deal, could be the likelier candidate to head off to Stamford Bridge. What does keep Juventus in good stead, though, is the fact that Jorginho is reportedly open to a switch to Turin. Having said that, it remains to be seen if a shock deal involving the Italian international and ex-Arsenal man Ramsey can be completed.
