Arsenal have reportedly made a lucrative offer to Thomas Partey, which will see him triple his wages should he make his way to the Emirates.

According to a report by Goal, Arsenal seem to be going all out in pursuit of Thomas Partey. The Gunners have tabled an offer which would see them raise his current wages threefold, although it is unclear if they are willing to trigger his €50 million release clause.

Partey has grown leaps and bounds over the course of his stint with Atletico Madrid, with the 27-year-old now one of the best midfielders in La Liga. Since breaking into the Colchoneros‘ first-team setup, the player has gone on to amass nearly 200 appearances, with his exploits attracting quite a few top clubs across Europe.

Most notably, Arsenal have been linked with a move for the Ghanaian international, with reports also claiming that they are already in talks with the player over a potential summer move. The interest from the Gunners does make a great deal of sense, though.

Arsenal are set to lose the services of Dani Ceballos, who is expected to return to Real Madrid for good after his loan spell ends. On top of that, Lucas Torreira’s future at the Emirates remains as uncertain as it has ever been, with contradictory reports emerging of his future.

In such a scenario, it is clear that Arsenal could do with a midfield addition, making Partey a viable target. The only major obstacle in front of the Gunners is his release clause, which is worth €50 million.

Considering the budgetary restrictions they are expected to have, triggering his release clause might just be out of the question. But, it seems like Arsenal are pressing ahead with their interest in Partey, with Goal claiming that the north Londoners are prepared to triple his current wages.

The report suggests that Partey and Atletico Madrid have reached an impasse after days of smooth talks over a new deal. While the 27-year-old has always maintained that he would like to stay put at the Wanda Metroplitano, the latest updates might have provided a boost to Arsenal.

What now remains to be seen is if Partey opens himself to the prospect of joining Arsenal in the summer transfer window. What will also be interesting to see is if Arsenal have the funds to launch the offensive for the 27-year-old this summer.

Arsenal is always in talk with high profile players but to land those players to the club has always been the problem. Also to maintain key players in the club is another problem for arsenal that is why the club is finding it very, very difficult to win trophies
