Chelsea are reportedly eyeing another raid on Bundesliga, as they plan to go all out to secure the signing of Bayer Leverkusen sensation Kai Havertz.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Chelsea are planning a swoop for Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz, as Frank Lampard looks to further bolster his squad ahead of the next season.

The Blues have already making quite a bit of a wave in the transfer market. Having confirmed the capture of Moroccan ace Hakim Ziyech from Ajax, Chelsea have reached an agreement with RB Leipzig for the signing of German centre-forward Timo Werner.

Chelsea are now eyeing another raid on Bundesliga, this time for Werner’s international teammate Kai Havertz. The 20-year-old, a product of the Leverkusen youth academy, has had a sensational 2019-20 campaign so far. In 38 appearances across all competitions, he has produced a return of 15 goals and 8 assists, having been in fine form since the turn of the year.

This has led to Havertz courting interest from several top clubs across Europe, including the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Real Madrid, who reportedly have already had an offer rejected for the German. And now, Chelsea too have thrown their hats in the ring to secure the signing of the 20-year-old Leverkusen star.

The Blues will be needing reinforcements in the final third as both Willian and Pedro are in the final days of their contract with the club and are poised to leave. Havertz, to that end, would be a viable target for the West London outfit, given his ability to play in any position in attack, while he can also slot in the centre of the park as well.

Given his age and the versatility that he brings to the table, it makes sense that Chelsea are prepared to go all out to secure the signing of the German international.

The report states that Bayer Leverkusen value their star man at £75 million. While Chelsea have already spent £38 million on securing Ziyech and will be paying £53 million to bring in Werner, the club are prepared to splash the cash on Havertz as well, as they look to cover ground and catch up to the top of the table.

Chelsea have shown great intent in the transfer market so far. But in order to sign Havertz, they will need to stave off competition from a host of top clubs, including the likes of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. But if they manage to sign the 20-year-old, they might turn out to be an unstoppable force come next season.
