Wolves are reportedly set to demand £70 million for former Barcelona winger Adama Traore amid interest from Liverpool over a move in the summer.

According to an exclusive report by Football Insider, Liverpool are interested in signing Adama Traore from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer transfer window. Wolves, though, will tell the Reds to cough up £70 million to part ways with the former Barcelona star.

It took him some time to showcase why he has been so highly rated for quite a while. However, Adama Traore has now well and truly taken the steps to fulfill the promise that his talent warranted during his days in the Barcelona youth setup.

Now a pivotal figure for one of Premier League’s most efficient sides, Traore has a decent return of 6 goals and 10 assists in 43 appearances across all competitions. The former Barcelona winger’s progress, though, seems to have attracted a number of top clubs, with Liverpool the latest to be linked with him.

Under Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool have built up one of the most formidable squads in all of Europe. However, Klopp still needs to iron out the small issues in his side, namely quality backup in some of the positions, in order to truly dominate across competitions. To that end, Liverpool are expected to enter the market in the summer to sign such players.

Traore is someone who fits in such a mould, especially with the future of Xherdan Shaqiri being uncertain. The report, though, suggests that Liverpool are viewing Traore as a possible option to replace Mohamed Salah or Sadio Mane, should either player depart Anfield in the summer.

Mane, in particular, has been linked with a possible move to Real Madrid and if the Senegalese were to leave, Traore would be a viable option to replace him. Liverpool, though, will need to cough up £70 million to secure the services of the former Barcelona winger.

The report suggests that Wolves now value Traore to be at least four times the £18 million they paid to sign Traore from Middlebrough, and are set to demand £70 million for the Barcelona academy product. However, Liverpool might have to fend off some competition to secure the services of the 24-year-old, especially with Manchester City also linked with him.

What now remains to be seen is if Liverpool agree to meet Wolves’ £70 million of the former Barcelona star, as they approach the summer transfer window.
