Chelsea are ready to dump fullback duo Victor Moses and Emerson Palmieri and step up their search for a new left back.

As quoted by The Sun, it’s time up for Moses and Emerson at Chelsea as the London club goes into the market looking for a starting left back.

Moses is one of the longest serving member of Chelsea, joining The Blues in 2012 from Wigan in an €11.5 million deal. Since his arrival, Moses has gone on 5 loans to 5 different clubs.

29 year old was an indispensable part of Antonio Conte’s 2016/17 Chelsea as they set several records cruising their way to the title. He was reunited with former boss in the winter transfer window of this season, joining Inter Milan on loan.

Emerson, on the other hand, arrived in England in 2018 from Roma. However, the Brazilian has never quite found a consistent rhythm under any Chelsea gaffer, playing second fiddle to the likes of Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta.

Maurizio Sarri had taken liking for the left back after Alonso failed to fit into the Italian’s system. However, this was not to last as Sarri departed after only 1 season in charge.

Ben Chilwell emerged as an initial target for Frank Lampard, but he might have to look at more realistic targets after learning Leicester City’s quoted €85 million for the fullback. Alex Telles of Porto and Nicolas Tagliafico are the names that have come up as options for Chelsea.

The Sun also suggests that Chelsea could sell Andreas Christensen to AC Milan. The Italian club were interested in the Danish Centre back in the winter, but Lampard ruled out a loan move.

Inter Milan want to pursue a permanent deal for Moses for £9.5 million, as agreed upon initially. Moreover, Emerson has been allowed to leave Stamford Bridge post this season, and should be able to raise £20 million atleast. A previous report linked Emerson to Juventus, who have shown a lot of interest in the 25 year old.

At the moment, Chilwell seems to be off the cards for Chelsea. Nonetheless, both Tagliafico and Telles are very capable attacking fullbacks who seem to fit the bill and Lampard’s tactics. Apart from these three, Roman Abrahamovic and co. could shift their focus to someone like Alex Grimaldo, or Marc Cucurella.
