Diogo Dalot has backed Bruno Fernandes to become a Manchester United legend after a stunning start to life with the Red Devils.

As quoted by Sky Sports, Diogo Dalot has opined while on the Manchester United podcast that Bruno Fernandes has what it takes to become a Manchester United legend in the years to come, iterating that his compatriot is a “massive player” for the Red Devils already.

Bruno Fernandes joined Manchester United from Bruno Fernandes in the January transfer window earlier this year. Heavily linked with the Premier League heavyweights for well over a year prior to his move, the transfer had been becoming a saga before it was finally completed.

Less than two months into joining Manchester United, though, the Portuguese international has established himself as one of the most important players in the first-team setup at Old Trafford. In fact, such has been his impact that Fernandes has been named the man of the match in most games he has featured in so far.

The 25-year-old’s impact has led him to a tangible reward as well, as he was named the Premier League Player of the Months for February, having had a return of 2 goals and 3 assists in 5 top-flight outings so far, thereby becoming only the 11th ever player to win the award in their first ever month in the competition.

More than the numbers, however, Fernandes has completely revamped Manchester United, at least for the time being. The Red Devils are yet to lose a game that the player has featured in thus far. And, his instant impact has led Diogo Dalot to tip his compatriot to achieve greatness at Old Trafford.

Speaking on the Manchester United Podcast (h/t Sky Sports), Dalot said, “He’s a top guy, a top player. He is going to be a legend, no doubt about that. He’s unbelievable, he can get better of course as well. He’s going to learn a lot from this club. I think he is a massive player to have in this team and he’s going to be a very good player for this club.”

“He was the captain at Sporting, of course he’s an experienced player as well, 25 years old, he’s played in Italy, he played in Portugal as well. He knows what he is doing. It’s going to be very good for him.”

At the moment, Bruno Fernandes can do no wrong at Manchester United. Like any other player, he will likely go through the usual peaks and troughs of a professional footballer. However, if the former Sporting Lisbon captain can continue being a key player for United for a long time, Dalot’s prophecy might as well come true, with Fernandes becoming a club legend in the future.
