Jordan Henderson is set to return while Andrew Robertson will come in for James Milner when Liverpool host Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

Liverpool will be hoping to overcome a first leg deficit to make it to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals when they lock horns with Atletico Madrid at Anfield in the Round of 16 second leg on Wednesday night. And, Jurgen Klopp has been handed a major injury boost ahead of his side’s latest fixture.

Jordan Henderson is in line to return to action after recovering from a hamstring injury that had sidelined him for nearly a month. The Liverpool captain had sustained the injury in the Round of 16 first leg fixture back in February and had subsequently missed four games.

During his pre-match press conference, Klopp provided an update on Henderson. However, when asked if he would start, the Liverpool manager was coy in his reply. Klopp said, “Hendo is ready but what we do with that, I don’t know… or maybe I know and I don’t say!”

Henderson should be fit enough to return to action right from the kick-off, coming in to the starting lineup in place of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The Liverpool captain will have usual suspects Fabinho and Georginio Wijnaldum for company in the three-man unit in the middle of the park.

As for defence, James Milner started in place of Andrew Robertson last time out in the Premier League against Bournemouth. Milner, though, should make way for Robertson in the back four, with Klopp expected to name his strongest possible lineup, considering the magnitude of the fixture against Atletico Madrid.Liverpool

Robertson will line up alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, who is set to make his 100th appearance for Liverpool when they take on Atletico Madrid. The defence will provide cover to Adrian, who will start again in the absence of the injured Alisson Becker.

Finally, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane pick themselves in the three-pronged attack. The likes of Divock Origi, Takumi Minamino, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Milner and Naby Keita could be among the backup options in midfield and attack, while Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip are possible options on the bench for defence.

Liverpool Predicted XI: Adrian; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane
