Leicester City have set their sights on Kieran Tierney as they plot a sensational move to lure the Arsenal star to King Power Stadium in the summer.

According to 90 Min, Kieran Tierney has shockingly emerged as the latest transfer target for Leicester City. The Foxes are willing to pay the exact price Arsenal had paid to sign the Scottish international in the summer as Brendan Rodgers seeks a reunion with the player.

It is believed Leicester are keen on finding a proper replacement for Ben Chilwell. The left-back has been linked with a move number of top clubs across England and is almost destined to move to pastures new when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

Tierney, in that regard, should be a tailor-made replacement for the Englishman. The 22-year-old has worked with Rodgers in the past, during their time together at Celtic. In fact, he enjoyed arguably the best spell in his career under the current Leicester City manager.

That being said, Tierney has had a rough start to his Premier League career after initially moving from Celtic in the summer. His debut season in the English top-flight has been marred by a hip and a shoulder injury that has kept him out on the sidelines for a total of almost 200 minutes.

As a result, the ex-Celtic star has featured in only five Premier League matches this season, mustering only 299 minutes of league football.

While Tierney’s poor fitness record could be a worry for Leicester City, it shouldn’t deter Arsenal, who should be well aware of the player’s potential. Indeed, the left-back has performed extremely whenever he has been given the chance. His ability to move up and down the pitch and provide a balance on the far side is truly incredible.

It goes without saying that Tierney is one of the more talented players in the current Arsenal squad. The only reason why that the Gunners have struggled in the left-back department is that Sead Kolasinac has also had his problems with injuries.

But, with both the defenders nearing their return to full fitness, it is perhaps wiser for the north London giants to keep hold of Tierney beyond the upcoming summer transfer window.

As far as Leicester City are concerned, securing the services of Tierney under €30 million could be an absolute deal. However, it is imperative that the defender improves his horrendous record with injuries and plays regular football.
