Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing Everton’s 19-year-old striker Moise Kean as a potential transfer target for the future.

According to a report from Spanish publication Defensa Central (h/t TEAMtalk), Real Madrid are looking at Everton starlet Moise Kean as a potential long-term addition to their attacking department.

The 19-year-old burst onto the scenes at Juventus in the second half of the last season, making a blazing start to life in senior football. Kean finished the 2018-19 campaign with a return of 6 goals in 13 Serie A games, along with a solitary goal in his only Coppa Italia appearance.

On the back of his performances, Kean also managed to break into the Italian national team and has gone on to score twice in three matches for the Azzurri. Naturally, interest in him spiked greatly and Everton were able to snap him up in the summer transfer window in a big-money deal.

However, Kean has struggled to make an impact since arriving in England. The 19-year-old failed to score a single goal in the first half of the 2019-20 season and managed to break his duck only in the last month, scoring in the 2-2 draw against Newcastle United.

Despite his misfiring start to life in Merseyside, Kean has enjoyed the backing of current manager Carlo Ancelotti and as per reports, hasn’t lost his admirers either with Real Madrid monitoring his progress closely. Los Blancos had been keeping tabs on the teenager last year too and could now make a move for him this summer as per Defensa Central.

Real Madrid have been overly reliant on star striker Karim Benzema to produce the goods in the final third this season. The Frenchman has delivered on a consistent basis for the Merengues, but at 32 years of his age, he is entering the final leg of his career.

Real Madrid invested heavily in Luka Jovic in the last summer window, but the move hasn’t panned out all too well, with the Serbian starlet scoring just two goals in 23 matches across all competitions so far this season. Hence, the Merengues are reportedly considering bringing in a new centre-forward in the summer, with Kean on their shortlist.

Along with 19-year-old Kean, the Spanish heavyweights are also keeping an eye on Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland as well as Inter Milan’s lethal marksman Lautaro Martinez, while Patrick Cutrone is also on their radar.

Given Benzema’s age and Jovic’s misfiring start to life in Spain, it makes sense that Real Madrid start planning for a long-term addition to their centre-forward department. But, it remains to be seen if their interest in Kean translates into a formal approach come summer.
