Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana is reportedly being chased for a free transfer by Arsenal, Tottenham, Leicester City and West Ham United.

According to a report by Daily Telegraph, Adam Lallana will have plenty of suitors if he decides to leave Liverpool as a free agent in the summer. The Englishman, whose deal at Anfield runs out at the end of the season, is being tailed by Leicester City as well as London trio Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham United.

Lallana has endured a topsy-turvy stint at Liverpool, since making the switch from Southampton in the summer of 2014. Over the last five-and-a-half years, the English midfielder has gone from being a regular to a bit-part player, with a spate of injuries contributing to his drop down the pecking order.

However, the current campaign has offered hope that Lallana still has a lot to contribute to Liverpool’s cause. The 31-year-old was a key part of Liverpool’s Club World Cup triumph and has featured 19 times across all competitions for the Reds, enabling Jurgen Klopp to rotate his troops efficiently.

Lallana, though, is in the final months of his current deal with Liverpool and an extension has not been forthcoming. For some time, it has been believed that a Bosman move away beckons for the player and the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, Leicester City and West Ham United are ready to pounce.

At Arsenal, Mikel Arteta does not have a lot of midfielders at his disposal, especially with Dani Ceballos expected to return to Real Madrid for good upon the expiration of his loan deal. That would leave the Arsenal manager with just Granit Xhaka, Matteo Guendouzi, Lucas Torreira and Mesut Ozil for three positions. To that end, Lallana would be a viable target for the Gunners.

At Tottenham, on the other hand, Jose Mourinho has plenty of midfielders to choose from, despite the fact that Victor Wanyama faces an uncertain future at the club. With Gedson Fernandes signed on loan, Mourinho does not really have a shortage of midfielders, which makes the potential interest in Lallana slightly curious.

Leicester City, though, could do with someone like the Liverpool midfielder, seeing as they have struggled whenever Wilfred Ndidi has been unavailable. That they could also offer Champions League football makes them an appealing destination for Lallana. That former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is also at the helm at Leicester gives them some impetus in the chase for Lallana.

West Ham, meanwhile, could lag behind in the race to sign the 31-year-old, considering they are in the relegation dogfight. Indeed, Champions League football could hold the key for Lallana, although regular football ought to be important as well.

For now, it looks as if Leicester City are leading the race to sign Lallana when he leaves Liverpool as a free agent this summer. However, Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham United will look to give the Foxes a run for their money and it remains to be seen where the experienced midfielder ends up going once his deal at Anfield winds down.
