The Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo will join the Argentine outfit, Estudiantes on loan mainly in search of more game time.

Argentinian top division outfit, Estudiantes have snapped up Manchester United defender, Marcos Rojo on loan till the end of the season.

The Argentine defender has featured for the Red Devils way back in November and was tipped to move away from the Old Trafford in search of more game time. Rojo was linked with a move to Everton in the past and not once but twice but the deal did not materialize and the 29-year old decided to return to his former club where he actually started his professional career.

Estudiantes left no stone unturned in making it special with the announcement video of one of their own as the video had emotional moments with Rojo donning the Estudiantes jersey. The adjacent caption read, “You always return to the places where you were happy. Because of the sense of belonging, it’s stronger.

‘Your dream and that of the Pincha family come true. We meet again. Welcome and thanks for coming back, Marcos. We welcome you with the heart.’

Juan Sebastien Veron who is also a former Manchester United player is currently the president of the Argentine outfit and game time here at Estudiantes may see him making a return to La Albiceleste squad for the upcoming Copa America.

Marcos Rojo was liked by Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjer mainly because of his positive aggression and versatility but incessant injuries restrict him to remain on the sidelines for the club in recent times. However, despite all the rumours, Solskjaer tried to remain tight-lipped about the move a few days ago but now the Argentine outfit has made it official.

Rojo came up through the ranks at Estudiantes making 43 appearances for the senior team between 2008 and 2011 before he decided to join Russia side Spartak Moscow. Therefore a return will be an emotional moment for him, for the club and the fans.

The 29-year old joined Manchester United back in 2014 from Sporting Lisbon and he was even involved in a transfer swap with the Portuguese club for Bruno Fernandes who has eventually landed in Old Trafford a few hours ago.
