Joe Gomez and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain should retain their respective spots in the Liverpool starting eleven for the match against Manchester United.

Liverpool have been rampant in the Premier League this season and are clear of the chasing pack by a country mile in the title race. But, Jurgen Klopp will also be looking at the prize that is the prospect of going an entire season undefeated, having managed to do so thus far. Their latest hurdle comes in the form of Manchester United, who travel to Anfield on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp doesn’t have many injury concerns and has the depth in the squad to tackle the injury problems that are currently plaguing his first-team setup. The entire back five picks itself, with Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Andrew Robertson all set to start.

Gomez has impressed alongside van Dijk since returning from injury and could now be ahead of Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip in the pecking order.

In midfield, there are some injury issues. James Milner and Naby Keita are both sidelined and Fabinho is unfit to feature for the match against Manchester United on Sunday. Jurgen Klopp however, stated in his pre-match conference that both Fabinho and Joel Matip are fit again and should be in the Matchday squad come Sunday.

“It looks like Joel and Fabinho [will be back]. They trained completely normally yesterday and the day before. So that means they are likely to be in the squad.”

Still, we are unlikely to see Klopp risk either, especially Fabinho against what is going to be a heavily depleted Manchester United squad. Thus, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain should keep his place for now in midfield. The Englishman will be accompanied by club captain Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum in midfield.

The front three pick themselves. Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are one of the most fearsome attacking trios in the footballing world right now and Klopp will be hoping they will be a menace for the Manchester United defence. Xherdan Shaqiri and Takumi Minamino will hope to get some minutes off the bench.

Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, van Dijk, Gomez, Robertson; Oxlade-Chamberlain, Henderson, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane
