Manchester United have reportedly stepped up their chase for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho after missing out on Erling Haaland.

According to a report by The Sun, Manchester United are ready to intensify their pursuit of Jadon Sancho after failing to secure the services of Erling Braut Haaland. Borussia Dortmund value the English international at £100 million.

Sancho has seen his stock skyrocket since making the brave move to join Borussia Dortmund from Manchester City. Having established himself as an indispensable figure for the Bundesliga giants, the player has only gone from strength to strength and is enjoying another fantastic season.

In 24 appearances across all competitions, the 19-year-old has a fantastic tally of 12 goals and 13 assists, essentially providing a direct contribution to a goal in every game. His exploits have not gone unnoticed, with some of the best clubs in the world vying for his signature, including Manchester United.

Manchester United actually hold a long-standing interest in Sancho, having also been linked with a move for him in the summer transfer window. The continued interest in the English international makes a great deal of sense, considering the lack of creative impetus that often plagues United in the final third.

Andreas Pereira has only delivered in phases, with one such rare occurrence coming at Burnley this past weekend. Manchester United, though, need more consistency when it comes to creativity, making the potential acquisition of Sancho a necessity more than anything.

Manchester United are even more intent on launching the offensive for Sancho after missing out on Erling Braut Haaland, who joined Borussia Dortmund on Sunday. That Haaland joined Dortmund also makes them believe, as per the report, that Sancho could be lured to Old Trafford.

Dortmund have slapped a £100 million price tag on Sancho, and Manchester United reportedly have no qualms meeting the valuation. What also helps their case is the fact that Sancho is keen on moving back to England, having been briefly rumoured to be unsettled at the Signal Iduna Park.

Missing out on Haaland could be termed as a howler by Manchester United. However, if they can bolster their attack by signing Sancho, that howler can be soon forgotten. Any move will only be possible in the summer, though, and it remains to be seen if a switch to Old Trafford can see the light of the day.
