Chelsea are reportedly close to sealing a £120 million deal to land in-demand teen sensation Jadon Sancho in the January transfer window.

According to an exclusive report by The Sun, Chelsea are inching closer to securing the services of Jadon Sancho in the January transfer window. The English teen sensation has also previously attracted Manchester United and Liverpool and has a £120 million valuation.

Sancho has become one of the hottest properties in Europe since enjoying his breakthrough in senior level football upon joining Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2017. Over the last 30 months, the 19-year-old English prodigy has grown leaps and bounds, becoming a key figure for both club and country.

This season, however, there were suggestions not too long ago that Sancho was unsettled at Signal Iduna Park, as he was reportedly at odds with Lucien Favre. But, claims of a possible January exit were quickly shot down by Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc. Those comments seem to have fallen on deaf ears, at least as far as Chelsea are concerned.

The Blues are reportedly set to make a beeline for quality additions in the January transfer window after seeing their transfer ban being rescinded by the CAS. And, attack seems to be the area that Chelsea are set to address this winter, and for good reason.

Willian has been in fine form this season, but is in the final year of his contract. Chelsea are keen to tie the Brazilian down to a new contract, but an agreement has not been forthcoming, with reports also suggesting that a transfer away from Stamford Bridge could be on the cards.

If Willian indeed departs, Frank Lampard will have Callum Hudson-Odoi, Christian Pulisic and an ageing Pedro as the only wingers at his disposal. As a result, bolstering the wide areas is imperative for Chelsea, who could have a long-term creative solution in Sancho.

Manchester United and Liverpool have also been linked with the 19-year-old, but the report claims that Chelsea have now steamed ahead of their Premier League rivals to secure the services of the player. The Blues are even prepared to shatter their club record transfer to land Sancho, who has a £120 million valuation.

It now remains to be seen if a £120 million January move can see the light of the day despite Zorc’s insistence that the teenage sensation will not be sold in the winter window. For now, it appears as if Chelsea are set to launch the offensive for Sancho.
