Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has refused to rule out a Manchester United move for English playmaker and Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish.

As quoted by Daily Mirror, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has addressed rumours linking Jack Greaslish with a transfer to Manchester United. The Manchester United manager was coy when responding to the links, but also refused to rule out making a move for the Aston Villa captain.

Jack Grealish is a player who was primed as one of the most promising talents in English football much before he made his debut for Aston Villa in the 2014-15 season. Over the last five years or so, however, the Englishman has progressed leaps and bounds; so much so that he has been given the responsibility of captaining the team numerous times.

Back in the Premier League after achieving promotion with Villa, Grealish has been in his elements this season, with a fantastic return of 5 goals and as many assists in 14 appearances across all competitions. His exploits have not gone unnoticed, with Manchester United being reportedly linked with the 24-year-old.

Reports of interest from Manchester United is not new, with the Red Devils linked with Grealish on previous occasions as well. In the current scheme of things, however, the fallen giants of English football can certainly do with a player of Grealish’s qualities.

Apart from Paul Pogba, Manchester United lack quality options as far as being a creative outlet is concerned, which has been evident in the Frenchman’s absence lately. Andreas Pereira has been entrusted with the responsibility of donning the creative hat in Pogba’s absence, but has more often than not failed miserably, as was apparent against Aston Villa this past weekend.

Speaking of the game against Aston Villa, Grealish’s qualities were on full display at Old Trafford, with the English playmaker scoring a stunning curler.  And, in the aftermath of the game, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer addressed rumours linking the player with Manchester United.

“I can’t talk too much about other teams’ players, if they’re Man United calibre or targets. But fantastic goal, I think he hit one of them corners I hit a couple of times. It was a great finish, but we should defend better, show him down the left. But what a goal and he played a good game.”

Solskjaer was visibly very coy when speaking on a move, but also refused to rule out the possibility of launching the offensive for him. But, having already been linked with Bruno Fernandes and James Maddison, Grealish is another player who could add a lot of value to the Manchester United squad, should they manage to sign him, and is a viable target for the club.

For now, the English playmaker continues to go from strength to strength and it remains to be seen if a future move to Manchester United sees the light of the day.
