Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly among a flurry of clubs pursuing the talented West Bromwich Albion teenager Jovan Malcolm.

According to Daily Mail, Jovan Malcolm is the subject of interest of a host of top English clubs. The Daily Mail have reported that clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United are keeping tabs on the West Bromwich Albion prospect, with Manchester City taking a keen interest in the forward.

Jovan Malcolm is a 16-year-old tidy forward that has been making all the right noises in the Under-18s this season. Representing West Bromwich Albion, the youngster has already bagged 7 goals in 5 games so far (as per the report); a tally that includes four in a single game against Liverpool Under-18s.

The 16-year-old is being sought after by the who’s who of Premier League, with Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and even Manchester City rumoured to have taken a liking to Malcolm.

Manchester United pride themselves in their youth setup and it’s ability to produce players for the first-team, something that is evident in the current squad under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. There are many youngsters set to come through in the coming year or two and United would look to add Malcolm’s name to the list.

Manchester City though, have usurped others in becoming perhaps, the most consistent youth side in English football in recent times. The Citizens are not shy to pay big to bring in top prospects and give them the best of conditions to develop their craft before either being a part of the first-team setup or going elsewhere to have successful career.

Liverpool and Arsenal are no different than the aforementioned two. The Gunners have always been known for their ability to inculcate youth into the first-team under Arsene Wenger and the trend seems to have continued under Unai Emery, with the manager bringing in the likes of Joe Willock, Bakayo Saka, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and more.

Liverpool showed they are not far behind in the youth department when naming their squad for the domestic cup fixtures.

As such, all of the four are likely to pursue Malcolm, which puts West Brom in a tricky predicament. But, the Baggies could be joining the big league soon again, currently sitting atop the Championship standings and regarded as one of the better bets to get promoted this season.

Malcolm could get a look-in at West Brom this season or the next one. But, if the Baggies do not achieve promotion, it would be tough to retain a prospect of Malcolm’s calibre, with the club already having lost a couple of gems in the summer.
