Manchester United teenager Tahith Chong, whose deal at Old Trafford will expire next summer, is reportedly the latest Bosman target for Juventus.

According to a report by Daily Mail, Tahith Chong could be primed to leave Manchester United as a free agent in next summer’s transfer window. Juventus are eyeing up a Bosman move for the Dutch teenager, who is out of contract at Old Trafford at the end of this season.

Tahith Chong made massive strides in the youth setup at Manchester United upon moving from Feyenoord in 2016. Over the last three years, the 19-year-old has been touted to be one of the most promising players, having become an indispensable figure for the Under-23 side last season.

The arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has enabled the Dutch prospect to get a look-in in the Manchester United first-team setup. After making four substitute appearances in the second half of last season, Chong made his full debut this term and has already turned out four further times in the first three month of the 2019-20 campaign.

But, there is a growing concern that Chong could leave Manchester United as a free agent next summer, with his contract set to run out at the end of the season. And, Juventus are looking to pounce on the situation by signing the teenager on a Bosman deal.

Juventus have made a reputation for being poachers of possible Bosman moves in the transfer markets, having signed many-a-top class footballers as free agents over the years. The latest such examples were Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey, who made their way to the Allianz Stadium in the summer on a free transfer.

As far as Chong is concerned, it is a situation that somewhat resembles the one that saw Paul Pogba call time on his stint with Manchester United to join Juventus back in 2012. The Bianconeri watched the player in action last week when he was on the scoresheet against Stoke City in Premier League 2 Division Two.

While Solskjaer wants Manchester United to keep hold of Chong, the fact that they are yet to reach an agreement with him over a new deal is putting them under pressure. Chong’s agent Erkan Alkan has already warned United that a departure from Old Trafford could be a possibility if a new deal is not offered to the Dutch teenager.

“It is true that top clubs keep an eye on the situation around Tahith. But it’s still early in the season. We are quietly waiting to see what United will come up with or else we will see what is best for Tahith’s development next summer.”

It now remains to be seen if Manchester United are able to reach an agreement with Chong over a new contract before the season ends, or if Juventus are able to prise the youngster away on a free transfer, making him their latest Bosman signing.
