Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to offer €100 million plus former Tottenham superstar Gareth Bale to land Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

According to a report by ElDesmarque Madrid, Real Madrid are looking to take big steps to secure the services of Paul Pogba in next summer’s transfer window. Los Blancos are willing to offer €100 million in addition to Gareth Bale to land the Manchester United superstar.

Gareth Bale’s stint at Real Madrid has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride. While he has made plenty of important contributions to the Spanish giants’ cause over the last six years, the player has also been hampered by a spate of injuries, which have not only restricted his game time but also resulted in a reduction in his role in the first-team setup.

This past summer, he was so out of favour with Zinedine Zidane that a move to China was mooted. A possible transfer eventually fizzled out and Bale has gone some way in winning over the Real Madrid boss, who has made use of the Welshman quite regularly this season. But, it is also believed that Los Blancos are open to the idea of parting ways with the 30-year-old.

It now appears as if Real Madrid are looking to use Bale as a makeweight in their bid to land a long-term target. Manchester United superstar Paul Pogba, who has been on the Merengues’ radar for quite some time, is on Zidane’s agenda once again, although any move will be complicated.

Pogba was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid right till the fag end of the summer transfer window after revealing that he was ready for a new challenge. In the end, Manchester United were able to keep hold of their talisman, but maybe not for long.

Real Madrid are prepared to lodge a player-plus-cash deal to secure Pogba’s signature, with the deal involving Bale. In addition to the Welshman, Los Blancos are also ready to shell out €100 million to meet Manchester United’s steep valuation of their midfield superstar.

Real Madrid can certainly do with a player of Pogba’s qualities, with Luka Modric’s career running on its last legs. Therefore, the La Liga heavyweights need to lay down a succession plan for the Croat, with Pogba emerging as a viable target.

As for Manchester United, the deal might just serve them well in the short-term, considering their long-running ineptness on the right flank, although Bale’s troubles with injuries could be a major source for concern. Nevertheless, it remains to be seen if United entertain the idea of a €100 million-plus-Gareth Bale offer to finally sell Pogba to Real Madrid, or if they turn down the bid instead.
