Former Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is reportedly keen on a reunion with N’Golo Kante and wants Juventus to make a move for the Frenchman.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri is interested in reuniting with Chelsea superstar N’Golo Kante and believes that his former employers would offload the World Cup winner for a transfer fee of £70 million.

Kante has established himself as one of the best central midfielders in the game. The 28-year-old Frenchman, who joined Chelsea from fellow Premier League outfit Leicester City in the summer of 2016, has gone on to make 147 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 9 goals and assisting 7 more.

Kante has won a Premier League and an FA Cup during his time with Chelsea along with the UEFA Europa League trophy last season under the tutelage of Maurizio Sarri. The midfielder featured 53 times under the Italian manager over the course of the 2018-19 campaign, finding the back of the net on five occasions.

Having been hugely impressed by what the diminutive Frenchman offers on the field, Sarri is keen on a reunion with him and wants him at Juventus next season.

The Bianconeri are loaded with options in the midfield department with the likes of Miralem Pjanic, Emre Can, Rodrigo Bentancur, Sami Khedira, Blaise Matuidi along with new signings Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey. However, Khedira and Matuidi are not getting any younger, while Can doesn’t seem to be a part of Sarri’s plans, leaving room for a new addition.

And the Juventus manager believes that signing Kante would take the team to a whole new level, that a combination of Kante along with Ramsey and Pjanic would be the best midfield in Europe. To that end, the Italian has instructed Juventus vice-chairman Pavel Nedved to explore the possibility of signing the 28-year-old next summer.

The report claims that there is a feeling in the Juventus camp that Chelsea would be willing to do business should an offer in the range of £70 million come along. It further adds that Kante could find the prospect of playing with Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and compatriots Rabiot and Matuidi too hard to turn down.

Kante, who is contracted with Chelsea till 2023, has made a slow start to the 2019-20 season though, with injuries hampering his involvement under new manager Frank Lampard. The 2018 World Cup winner has taken the field on just five occasions across all competitions so far this term.

Kante has claimed to be happy at Chelsea and given how highly he is regarded within the club, a transfer next summer would be extremely unlikely, especially at the £70 million valuation mentioned in the report.
