Paul Pogba, who continues to remain a target for Real Madrid, is unsure of his future at Premier League club Manchester United.

In an interview with French outlet RMC Sport, Paul Pogba was coy when quizzed about his future at Manchester United. The Premier League heavyweights continue to face a threat from Real Madrid for their star midfielder, who put a “question mark” over his future at Old Trafford.

There have been quite a few intriguing transfer sagas that have dominated this summer’s transfer window. From Neymar to Romelu Lukaku, a number of superstars have been the subject of intense speculation over their future. But one player who has dominated the window thus far is Paul Pogba.

The Frenchman’s future at Manchester United has been under a cloud ever since he made explosive comments pointing towards wanting a new challenge after three years with the Premier League heavyweights. Ever since then, Real Madrid have been constantly linked with the 26-year-old.

Real Madrid have been the heaviest spenders in the transfer market this summer, with Zinedine Zidane revamping his squad ahead of the 2019-20 season. But, one area that remains unaddressed is midfield.

Luka Modric is not getting any younger, while Toni Kroos has shown major signs of regression. Isco has never been able to nail down a spot in the Real Madrid first-team setup due to his inconsistent nature, while James Rodriguez faces an uncertain future at the Bernabeu. As a result, Pogba is a viable target, who Los Blancos have previously been confident of snapping up this summer.

But, recent reports have suggested that Real Madrid have moved on from Pogba, with Donny van de Beek emerging as a priority. There have even been claims that the Merengues have agreed terms with the Dutchman over a summer move. But, Pogba’s latest comments would give them hope.

Speaking in the aftermath of Manchester United’s 4-0 win over Chelsea in their Premier League season opener, Pogba said, “I always feel good when I play football. I do the things I like, plus it’s my job. I give my all every time I go out on the pitch.”

“I’m aware that things have been said. Only time will tell. There’s always that question mark. I’m at Manchester. I have fun with my teammates, I always want to win matches and I always give my best when I’m on the pitch.”

While part of Pogba’s comments might fill Manchester United fans with hope, the fact that he put a “question mark” over his future would leave them concerned. Having said that, one would wonder, as widespread reports have claimed, if United would sell the 2018 World Cup winner despite intense pressure from Real Madrid after not bolstering their midfield this summer.

For now, Pogba’s future remains uncertain and it remains to be seen if Real Madrid decide to launch the offensive in the wake of his comments speaking to RMC Sport.
