Liverpool reportedly have no intention to sell Brazilian star Fabinho despite rumours of a shock €75 million agreement with Real Madrid.

According to a report by Liverpool Echo, Liverpool will not be cashing in on star midfielder Fabinho, who has been linked with a shock move to Real Madrid. Los Blancos are reportedly plotting a €75 million move for the Brazilian star, but the Reds will not sell him.

Fabinho joined Liverpool from AS Monaco last summer, with the Principality club previously managing to hold on to the Brazilian in the wake of a mass player exodus following their brilliant 2016-17 campaign. For Fabinho though, life as a Liverpool player did not get off to the brightest of starts.

The 25-year-old was slowly integrated into the first-team setup by Jurgen Klopp, who wanted to give him time to adjust to his new surroundings. But, after finally making his Premier League debut for Liverpool in the middle of October, the former Real Madrid man did not look back, missing just two league games.

Fabinho also had a part to play in the Reds’ UEFA Champions League triumph, starting every knockout game for them. But, his exploits mean that Liverpool have had to contend with some interest in the player this summer, with his former club Real Madrid keen on him.

In fact, Colombian reporter Jose Luis Vergara has claimed this week that Real Madrid have an agreement with Liverpool for the Brazilian international, who will sign a five-year deal with Los Blancos. Vergara has also claimed that the deal will see Real Madrid pay €65 million upfront, with €10 million in add-ons, while Fabinho will earn €7.5 million in wages.

The interest in Fabinho does make sense for Real Madrid. The La Liga heavyweights are in the market for midfield reinforcements, but they seem to be more keen on bolstering the creative side of things, with Donny van de Beek being tipped to join them.

However, with Casemiro struggling to remain fit throughout the season, Real Madrid could do with a player to share game time with the Brazilian. As a result, Fabinho could have been a viable candidate to challenge his compatriot. But, Liverpool have no intention of selling the star midfielder.

Jurgen Klopp sees Fabinho as a vital part of his squad and has no interest in seeing him leave the club anytime soon. Indeed, with the 25-year-old the first-choice holding midfielder for Liverpool, he is already in a secure position.

So, for all intents and purposes, Real Madrid stand no chance of signing Fabinho, despite rumours of a €75 million agreement with Liverpool, which, as per Liverpool Echo, are false.
