Fedor Chalov is drawing interest from the top six of the Premier League, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United chasing the CSKA Moscow forward.
According to The Mirror, there is growing speculation surrounding Fedor Chalov’s future at CSKA Moscow. The Russian striker is on the radar of the entire Premier League ‘Big Six’ and is also drawing interest from several top European clubs from France, Germany and Spain.
Among the countries mentioned, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are interested while AS Monaco and Sevilla represent the interest from France and Spain, respectively. Among the Premier League Big Six, Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal have been credited with more of a genuine interest in the Russian Premier League forward.
Fedor Chalov finished the 2018-19 season as the league’s top scorer, with 15 goals. But, the 7 assists along with the goals highlight he is more than just a finisher and it is this very kind of multi-faceted skillset that the European bigwigs search for in the modern football era.
Chalov has been with CSKA Moscow since the age of 8 and did renew his deal in January. But, he could be on his way out in the current transfer window, drawing widespread interest in his services, especially from Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United.
Arsenal have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette as the superstar forward duo. But, with Danny Welbeck being released in the summer, there aren’t options beyond the two mega stars. Gabriel Martinelli has been added to the squad, but is likely to play a tertiary role, if any, in the first-team in the 2019-20 campaign.
Liverpool have seen Daniel Sturridge depart and while Divock Origi has signed an extension, Jurgen Klopp still wants to add one more attacker to his squad to enable smoother rotation of his world-class trio of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.
Manchester United are also likely to be in need of a striker, especially with Romelu Lukaku being heavily tipped to leave for Inter Milan. The Red Devils have been linked with several names but Chalov fits the profile. Young, energetic and multi-faceted, the CSKA Moscow star will be a seamless fit into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s tactical plans.
That the player is likely to be available for £20 million provides an added impetus for the suitors, especially for a club with a restricted budget like Arsenal. Liverpool would also love to get an attacker in without much outlay, as reported in pursuit of Nicolas Pepe. Manchester United could earn a differential profit between Lukaku and Chalov and use it to strengthen other areas, like the midfield.
Chalov is rightly on the radar of several European bigwigs. And with his £20 million valuation, his days at CSKA Moscow look numbered.
