Manchester United have reportedly offered an improved £350,000 per week deal to key superstar David de Gea.

According to a report by Daily Mirror, Manchester United have tabled another fresh contract offer to David de Gea. The Spanish goalkeeper has entered the final year of his current deal with the Premier League heavyweights, who have offered a £350,000-a-week deal to him.

David de Gea is currently at his most uncertain position at Old Trafford, following what was a turbulent season for both him and Manchester United. Having already come off an underwhelming campaign with Spain at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the 28-year-old was well off his best at club level as well.

In fact, de Gea kept a mere 10 clean sheets in 47 appearances across all competitions, making several game-changing errors over the course of the season. But, his value in the Manchester United first-team setup remains high, with the Red Devils determined to keep hold of him for the long-term future.

What is and has been a concern for Manchester United though, is the fact that de Gea’s current contract is set to run out next summer. With the Spanish superstar now in the final year of his deal at Old Trafford, United cannot afford to waste any time in tying him down to a new deal.

While the Premier League heavyweights have reportedly been in talks with the 28-year-old for quite some time now, there has hardly been any breakthrough, with the two parties disagreeing over wages, meaning there has been an impasse between Manchester United and de Gea.

Recent reports had suggested that de Gea was edging closer to signing a bumper new deal with Manchester United. But, if claims by Daily Mirror are anything to go by, the Red Devils are still no closer to agreeing a renewal with their key superstar.

However, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer determined to keep hold of his first-choice goalkeeper, a fresh deal worth £350,000 per week has been put on the table for the custodian. The offer is closer to the demands made by de Gea and his entourage, meaning there could be hopes of finally tying him down to a new deal.

Should de Gea indeed end up putting pen to paper on a new deal, it would be a second big contract renewal at Manchester United this summer following the announcement for Marcus Rashford’s bumper new contract. But, with the likes of PSG, Juventus and Real Madrid reportedly interested in him, United need to move fast in agreeing what would be a £350,000-a-week deal.
