Former Manchester United midfielder Ravel Morrison is reportedly set for a return to Premier League with newly-promoted side Sheffield United.

According to a report from BBC Sport journalist Andy Giddings, former Manchester United starlet Ravel Morrison is in talks with newly-promoted Premier League outfit Sheffield United over the possibility of a summer transfer.

Morrison came through the youth ranks at Manchester United and had been heralded as one of the finest product of the Red Devils’ academy. The midfielder starred for the youth teams at United alongside Paul Pogba, but could not make the jump to the first-team.

Morrison managed to make just three first-team appearances for the 20-time English champions with questions being asked over his off-the-field antics and discipline. The gifted midfielder left Manchester United to join West Ham United in 2012.

Morrison started out well at West Ham and showed glimpses of his abilities, but a falling out with then manager Sam Allardyce led to him being sent out on loan to Birmingham City, QPR and later Cardiff City. The 26-year-old left West Ham permanently in 2015 when his contract expired, joining Serie A giants Lazio.

But things failed to work for the former Manchester United in Rome as well as he managed just eight first-team appearances before returning to QPR on loan, which was followed by another temporary spell, this time away at Mexican outfit Atlas in the 2017-18 term.

Morrison rediscovered his form during his time in Mexico and subsequently went on to join Swedish outfit Ostersunds earlier this year on a six-month contract. Having made just six appearances, the 26-year-old left the club upon the expiry of his contract and is currently a free agent.

And as per Andy Giddings of BBC, the former Manchester United midfielder has emerged as a potential target for newly-promoted Premier League outfit Sheffield United. The Blades clinched automatic promotion to the top-flight, finishing second in the 2018-19 Championship and are keen on strengthening their squad ahead of their return to top tier football.

The report states that Morrison was spotted at Bramall Lane on Thursday although it is unknown if Sheffield United have made a contract offer to sign the former Manchester United youngster. Despite his controversies off the field, which has tarnished his reputation to a large extent, Morrison is a talented footballer and could have plenty to offer to the Blades.
