Chelsea superstar Jorginho is reportedly ready to quit the club in order to follow former boss Maurizio Sarri to Juventus, according to his agent.

In a recent interview, Chelsea star Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos has revealed that his client would be open to an exit from Stamford Bridge this summer in order to reunite with Maurizio Sarri at Juventus, as reported by the Daily Mirror.

Jorginho joined Chelsea from Serie A giants Napoli last summer, snubbing an opportunity to link up with Premier League champions Manchester City in order to continue working with Sarri, under whom he had established himself as one of the finest midfielders in the Italian top-flight.

The 27-year-old became an ever-present member of the Chelsea first-team under Sarri, despite going through lean patches of form. Jorginho ended his debut campaign in England with 54 appearances across all competitions, contributing with two goals, but no assists as the Blues ended up winning the UEFA Europa League.

However, Jorginho finds himself in a sticky situation now that Sarri has left Chelsea to take up the managerial position with Serie A champions Juventus. The 27-year-old might not be a regular in the first-team under the Blues’ next manager, given the wealth of options in the middle of the park.

Whoever takes over the reins at Chelsea next season might look to reinstate N’Golo Kante in the defensive midfield role after Sarri had opted to use him in an advanced role, while the return of Tiemoue Bakayoko from a solid loan spell at AC Milan could also lead to reduction in Jorginho’s playing time in the upcoming term.

Given his current predicament, Jorginho’s agent, Joao Santos, has revealed that the midfielder is open to another reunion with Sarri at Juventus. He said, “Chelsea have a four-year contract with the lad. We’ll wait a few days to figure out whether there is any truth in this interest. His past at Napoli won’t be an issue, because Jorginho is a professional.”

Chelsea shelled out a transfer fee of £57 million to sign Jorginho last summer and might not be open to a sale, especially considering that they have been hit with a two-window transfer ban by FIFA, which prohibits them from bringing in possible replacements.

Jorginho is not the first Chelsea player to have been linked with a move to Juventus since Sarri’s appointment in Turin with left-back Emerson Palmieri also being tipped to reunite with the Italian tactician in the Serie A. However, given Chelsea’s current situation, it is unlikely that any sale would take place, especially with the club having already lost superstar Eden Hazard to Real Madrid.
