Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal has reportedly received a bumper contract offer to move to China in this transfer window.

According to a report from French website Soccerlink, as carried by Spanish publication Sport, Barcelona star Arturo Vidal is a subject of serious interest from a club in China. The Chilean midfielder has received a huge contract offer to complete a switch to the Far East in the summer transfer window.

Vidal, 32, joined Barcelona only last summer, arriving from German champions Bayern Munich in an €18 million deal. The midfielder struggled for game time early on, but grew into a regular for Ernesto Valverde’s side as the season progressed.

The 108-time capped Chilean international ended the campaign with 53 appearances in all competitions, with a tally of 3 goals and 7 assists, as Barcelona lifted the La Liga title. It was Vidal’s eighth consecutive league title win across three different leagues, having won four with Juventus and three with Bayern Munich prior to the 2018-19 term.

While Vidal ended the season as a regular, it is unlikely that the next season will hold the same for him. Barcelona have recruited Dutch sensation Frenkie de Jong from Ajax to add to their already loaded midfield contingent.

Ivan Rakitic has been linked with a switch to Manchester United and even if he ends up completing a switch to Old Trafford, Vidal will still have to compete with the likes of Arthur Melo, Sergio Busquets, Philippe Coutinho, the newly-arrived de Jong, along with academy graduates Carles Alena and Riqui Puig, who are likely to get more game time next time out.

This situation might lead to Vidal considering his future at Camp Nou. And, according to the report from Soccerlink, the 32-year-old has been offered a way out, with an unnamed club from China putting forth a bumper contract offer to convince him to leave Barcelona.

The report further adds that Vidal also has offers from clubs in Europe, but the lucrative deal on the table from China is much more appealing to the former Juventus and Bayern Munich superstar. The midfielder is contracted with Barcelona till the summer of 2021 and will have a huge decision to make once he returns from Brazil, where he is currently participating in the 2019 Copa America with Chile.
