Serie A giants Inter Milan are reportedly eyeing a summer swoop for Real Madrid star Gareth Bale, who is also on the radar of Manchester United.

According to a report from Spanish outlet OK Diario, Real Madrid outcast Gareth Bale has emerged as a transfer target for Italian heavyweights Inter Milan. The Welsh wing wizard is also reported to be on the radar of Premier League giants Manchester United.

Bale has been with Real Madrid for six years now, having joined from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 and has seen immense success in Spain, winning four Champions League trophies and a La Liga title. However, the 29-year-old has never been able to win over the fans of the Spanish capital club and has constantly been linked with an exit.

The rumours have only intensified ever since Zinedine Zidane returned as the Real Madrid manager in March earlier this year, nine months after he had vacated the spot. Upon the Frenchman’s return, Bale started only five La Liga matches and did not feature in any of Real Madrid’s final three games of the season.

Zidane, according to the report, has informed Bale that he is not part of the plans moving forward, leading to interest from Inter Milan. The Nerazzurri, having appointed Antonio Conte as their new manager, are in the market for attacking reinforcements as they look to build a team capable of challenging Juventus for the Serie A honours.

Given their lack of quality options in the wide areas, it makes sense that Conte and Inter would be interested in signing a proven star like Bale. But, they will have to battle Premier League side Manchester United, who are also believed to be monitoring the Welshman’s situation.

Manchester United have been long-term admirers of Bale and have made attempts to sign him on multiple occasions in the past. With Anthony Martial and Alexis Sanchez linked with summer exits from Old Trafford and considering the dearth of options on the right flank, signing the 29-year-old would address some problems in United’s attack.

Inter, though, believe they have the edge over Manchester United in the pursuit of the Real Madrid star, as they will be able to offer Bale Champions League football, while the Red Devils will be playing in Europa League. However, the reported €130 million transfer fee and Bale’s wages could prove to be a stumbling block for Conte’s side.

As far as Manchester United are concerned, they are set to boost their attack with Swansea City starlet Daniel James expected to complete a move in the near future, while they continue to be linked with a move for Lille attacker Nicolas Pepe.
