Brazilian star Richarlison, who is valued at £100 million by Everton has admitted that he is flattered by speculation linking him with Manchester United and Barcelona.

As quoted by TEAMtalk, Richarlison has addressed speculation surrounding his future at Everton, admitting that it is an honour for him to be linked with Manchester United and Barcelona. The Brazilian winger is valued at £100 million by Everton, where he has insisted he is happy right now.

Richarlison has made quite a splash since making his way to England in the summer of 2017. Two years on, and the 22-year-old has seen his career trajectory veer in a constantly upward direction. After a decent campaign with Watford in his maiden season in the Premier League, he has elevated his game further upon joining Everton.

With 14 goals in 38 appearances across all competitions, Richarlison was Everton’s top scorer this past season, with two assists boosting a strong tally further. His performances have invariably caught the eye, with the likes of Barcelona and Manchester United being linked with him.

Manchester United are simply in a disarray following arguably their worst-ever Premier League campaign. While defence has had its fair share of problems, the attack also lacks bite, which has made it a major cause for concern for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

In particular, the right wing slot has been the Achilles Heel for Manchester United, which is where Richarlison could perhaps, slot in. But, with Alexis Sanchez and Anthony Martial rumoured to be on the chopping block, the Brazilian could well slot in in his preferred role on the left flank.

Barcelona, on the other hand, have seen Lionel Messi being burdened with the bulk of the attacking responsibilities due to various reasons. While Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho have blown hot and cold (Coutinho more so), Ousmane Dembele’s injury problems have only piled on the issues.

A move for Richarlison could thus, make sense for Barcelona, who can certainly do with some strong addition in attack. And, the 22-year-old has now gone on to address the rumours linking him with the Blaugrana as well as Manchester United.

As quoted by TEAMtalk, Richarlison told reporters, “It’s a nice feeling when you get praise for your good work, but I’m not thinking about a transfer at the moment. I’ve just arrived at Everton. I’m happy here.”

While Everton have reportedly slapped a £100 million price tag on the Brazilian international to ward off his suitors, the player’s comments suggest he is unlikely to wish for a move anyway, even though he is flattered by the links with Manchester United and Barcelona. One can never say never in football, though.
