Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a summer move for Argentine forward Paulo Dybala, who could be sold by Juventus for a three-figure offer.

According to a report from Italian outlet Calciomercato, Manchester United are considering the possibility of signing Juventus superstar Paulo Dybala in the summer transfer window as they eye a squad overhaul ahead of the next season.

Following their 1-1 draw against Huddersfield Town on Sunday, it was confirmed that Manchester United will not be playing Champions League football next season. In the face of what has been a disastrous campaign, the Red Devils’ manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is planning a revamp of the squad, as he looks to rebuild from scratch.

Reinforcements will be needed across all areas of the pitch, including the attacking department despite Manchester United possessing the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata and Alexis Sanchez in their ranks, along with young talents such as Tahith Chong and Mason Greenwood.

None of the Red Devils’ forwards have been consistent enough, leading to Solskjaer wanting to add more quality and creativity to his side in the final third. Manchester United have been linked heavily with a move for Portuguese duo of Joao Felix and Bruno Fernandes, but with rivals Manchester City also vying for their signatures, the 20-time English champions could be forced to look elsewhere.

And, Juventus star Paulo Dybala has emerged as a potential target for Manchester United, with the club already initiating negotiations with the Serie A champions over the possibility of a summer move for the Argentine.

Dybala has been regarded as one of the finest attackers in Europe since he burst onto the scenes with Palermo before joining Juventus in 2015. But, the 25-year-old has had a disappointing 2018-19 season in which he has managed a tally of just 10 goals and 6 assists from 39 matches in all competitions.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival from Real Madrid last summer meant that the Argentine had to play second-fiddle to the Portuguese maverick, which seemingly has affected his form and confidence. After what has been an underwhelming campaign compared to his usual standards, Juventus are prepared to offload him in the summer, provided an offer in excess of €100 million comes along.

Dybala, despite his poor season, is a quality player and could prove to be the marquee addition to this Manchester United side that spurs them on to better things come next season. But, the Red Devils will have to battle with Bayern Munich, who are also closely monitoring his situation at Juventus.

The transfer fee should not be a problem for Manchester United, but it would be interesting to see if they are able to convince Dybala to move to Old Trafford without Champions League football on offer. It remains to be seen if the Red Devils press ahead with their pursuit of the Argentine or look elsewhere to boost their attack come summer.
