Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing a summer move for English international Jadon Sancho, who is currently valued at €80 million by Borussia Dortmund

As per a report by German publication Bild, Real Madrid are keen on snapping up rising English superstar Jadon Sancho in the summer transfer window. The young winger is presently rated at around €80 million, but Borussia Dortmund will only do business for a sum significantly higher than his current valuation.

2018-19 has been the season that has seen Jadon Sancho take German and European football by storm, thereby vindicating his bold decision to leave Manchester City to join Borussia Dortmund. In 39 outings across all competitions, the teenage prodigy has a fantastic return of 12 goals and 18 assists.

His exploits have also helped him break into the English national setup, while also drawing praise from pundits and legends alike. More importantly, however, the player’s stellar performances have brought forth interest from some of the biggest clubs in the world, with Real Madrid the latest in his pursuit.

Attack is reportedly a priority for Real Madrid, with Zinedine Zidane urging his forwards to pull their weight more consistently instead of leaving it all on the able shoulders of Karim Benzema, as has been the case all season long. And, in order to support the Frenchman, a number of wingers have been linked with the Spanish heavyweights.

Sancho though, could help more in the sense of the creative game, which has taken a hit due to a slump that both Toni Kroos and Luka Modric have suffered this season. And, Real Madrid would need to sign a replacement for Modric, who is in the twilight of his career, in due course.

The English international is thus, a viable target, who can also chip in with his fair share of goals. To that end, Real Madrid have turned their attention from long-term target Kylian Mbappe to Sancho, who is currently valued at around €80 million.

Borussia Dortmund, however, are adamant that they are not ready to part ways with their young star just yet. And, if they do make peace with the idea of selling the English international, it will be for an amount that is significantly higher than his current valuation, with the Bundesliga giants only prepared to let go of the player for around €180 million.

It now remains to be seen if Real Madrid are willing to shell out the eye-watering sum, or if they aim to negotiate the transfer fee down to an agreeable figure. For now, it looks like they are set to make their move for the English international and it will be interesting to see if he turns out at the Bernabeu next season.
