Manchester United are the latest entrants in the growing list of admirers for Richarlison, with the Everton forward also on the radar of Barcelona.

The Telegraph have run a report speculating about Manchester United’s interest in Richarlison. The Red Devils have reportedly entered the race for the Everton forward and are considering a summer move for the attacker. Barcelona and AC Milan are the other names mentioned in the report as admirers of the player.

Richarlison broke onto the stage with Watford and saw Everton splash the big bucks on him to bring him to Goodison Park in the summer of 2018. In his maiden season with the Toffees, Richarlison has been their most prolific forward along with Gylfi Sigurdsson in the Premier League, with 13 goals to his name.

His form and goals, the latest being from an audacious overhead kick in the 4-0 win over Manchester United, have drawn interest from several top European clubs. AC Milan have been named as a suitor. But, it is Barcelona’s interest that made the most sounds recently in the papers.

The Catalans might look to move for Richarlison to add to their list of attackers. The Everton forward could act as a direct replacement for Philppe Coutinho, who is being linked with a summer exit from the club. But, Barcelona will have to offload other Non-EU players as well to make room for the Premier League star.

Manchester United have seen Richarlison’s talent up close now. But, Telegraph suggests his name popped up before United’s second leg defeat to Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. The reasoning is quite interesting though.

The report states that United’s interest stems from the fact that Richarlison can play all across the front three. But, in fairness, the Brazilian prefers the left side and despite him having Premier League experience, another versatile left winger will only compound United’s problems.

Richarlison could prove to be a cheaper alternative to Jadon Sancho, who Manchester United are pursuing heavily, according to the Telegraph report, with Solskjaer intent on building a British core. But, Sancho is a natural right winger, something Richarlison is not.

Hence, the interest and the reasoning makes little sense unless United plan on offloading Alexis Sanchez or Anthony Martial while making sure Marcus Rashford is deployed as a centre-forward only.

Richarlison might see himself privy to another move – his third in three years. But, Manchester United have little logical reasoning behind their interest and Barcelona do not have the Non-EU player slots right now to pursue the Everton forward.
