Manchester United superstar Paul Pogba is reportedly eyeing a move to Real Madrid in the summer, with Juventus showing interest in him as well.
According to a report by Spanish publication AS, Real Madrid are the first-choice option for Paul Pogba, who is open to the idea of leaving Manchester United in the summer transfer window. Juventus are also interested in re-signing their former player, should he depart from Old Trafford.
Paul Pogba has been something of an enigma in his second coming at Manchester United. While there have been plenty of nonchalant displays of brilliance, the player has also had the tendency to switch off and be a frustrating figure in several games.
Over the last three years, there have been a few instances that have led to uncertainty surrounding the Frenchman’s Manchester United future as well. His clash with Jose Mourinho earlier in the season had seen Pogba being linked with a move away from Old Trafford last summer. And now, a possible switch to Real Madrid could be a possibility.
The report does not confirm whether Los Blancos are showing an interest in Pogba, but he could be a solid addition to the first-team squad, especially at a time when Zinedine Zidane is planning a revamp. With Luka Modric showing signs of age catching up with him while Toni Kroos has regressed quite a bit as well this season.
The French superstar could thus, be a fantastic addition to Zidane’s squad, and if they make their move, chances are they would stand a good chance of signing him. The 26-year-old’s brother Florentin Pogba has already claimed that he would leave Manchester United only for either Barcelona or Real Madrid, and the player has gone on to fan the flames with comments of his own.
Pogba recently flirted with the idea of making his way to the Spanish capital, having alluded to the fact that joining Real Madrid would be a dream come true for him. But, the Spanish heavyweights will have to contend with Juventus, should they seriously pursue the Manchester United midfielder.
The report suggests that the Bianconeri are hoping to use their good relationship with Mino Raiola to their advantage to land Pogba. With Florentino Perez not having the best of links with the super agent, they could have an uphill task, although the player himself is keen on joining Real Madrid.
As of now, Juventus seem to be the only club seriously interested in signing Paul Pogba in the summer transfer window. But, with the French superstar open to the idea of making the switch to Real Madrid, it remains to be seen if Manchester United will be able to keep hold of their star man.
