The Slovakian defender has been highly regarded for his performances in Italy with Liverpool and Manchester United among other big clubs keeping tabs on Milan Skriniar.
Manchester United and Liverpool ought to be busy in the summer window, and both clubs, among a host of other big clubs, are already tracking their respective targets. However, TeamTalk understands that Inter Milan’s Slovakian center back, Milan Skriniar is on top of the list for many clubs including Manchester United and Liverpool, who will be watching him in Cardiff.
The Inter Milan defender’s stock has been rising since putting in some impressive performances for his club in Serie A, and with Europe and English watching him closely, a move in the summer could be on the cards. On the other hand, the financial struggles under the FFP spotlight for Inter Milan could force the club to sell one of their best assets.
Inter are reportedly looking for a fee around the £30 million mark, although before the January window, Manchester United were told to cough up around €120 million for the defender. If the £30 million fees is, in fact, true, then it could ensure a top six battle from the Premier League for the player, alongside Real Madrid and Barcelona, who are also in the hunt for the Slovakian.
Manchester United, in particular, could make do with a player of Skriniar’s quality, considering most of their center back options this season have failed to convince for the long term. Liverpool, on the other hand, have one of the best defensive units in the Premier League and Europe currently, but could definitely add to that with Skriniar’s capture.
Both these clubs along with a host of other big wigs are expected to be in Cardiff to watch Skriniar when Wales take on Slovakia. Skriniar, on the other hand, has been a rock at the back for Inter this season, as the club languishes in third place in Serie A. Skriniar has made 25 appearances in the league and 11 more in other competitions this season for Inter.
Inter would not want to lose one of their primary players, but financial restrictions come the end of the season could force their hand in selling stars such as Skriniar. Although there could be severe doubts over the £30 million reported fee Inter are looking for, although the club could consider offers upwards of £50 million in the summer.
As for Skriniar, he already is considered the natural heir for Martin Skrtel in the Slovakian team, owing to his performances at the back. Moreover, the defender can play on either side of central defence while also being capable of playing at right-back. But considering his displays and the promise for the future, Skriniar is one of Europe’s hot properties, and any club would benefit from his presence at the back.
