Paul Pogba reportedly has no plans to leave Manchester United in the summer transfer window, assuring Ole Gunnar Solskjaer he wants to stay.

According to a report by The Sun, Paul Pogba is no longer intent on calling it quits at Manchester United in the summer transfer window. The French midfielder has been in touch with caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to let him know that he plans to stay put at Old Trafford, having previously been unhappy under Jose Mourinho.

Paul Pogba returned to Manchester United in the summer of 2016 amid much fanfare after a fruitful four-year stint at Juventus. His maiden full campaign with the first-team was quite memorable, with the player becoming a key figure for the Premier League heavyweights as they went on to win two major trophies.

However, things started taking a turn for the worse in his second season at Old Trafford as after a strong start to the season, he had an infamous bust-up with Jose Mourinho, which continued well into the initial days of the ongoing campaign. The uneasy relationship with the Portuguese meant Pogba was linked with a summer move away from Manchester United.

Barcelona were the most intent club on landing the 25-year-old, with Blaugrana superstars like Gerard Pique and Luis Suarez among those who openly courted him. But, the sacking of Mourinho and the subsequent appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has resulted in a complete turnaround, and how.

Manchester United are now playing around Pogba, who is enjoying the most productive campaign of his illustrious senior career with 14 goals and 11 assists in all competitions. The results have been inspirational, with the Red Devils in the running for a top four finish while also being in contention to win the UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup.

Pundits and former players are also singing his praises, with Manchester United legend Phil Neville even hailing Pogba as the best player in the Premier League. And, it looks like the player too, is happy and content at Old Trafford, with the good feeling returning to the club and his camp.

The report claims that while he was earlier ready to force a move away from the club, he has been having private talks with Solskjaer, even reaffirming to the interim boss that he has no plans to leave. In fact, Pogba even intends to become the club captain, which will be quite a feat after infamously being stripped of the responsibility of being a vice captain by Mourinho.

If widespread reports are to be believed, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to become permanent Manchester United manager. And, news of Paul Pogba having no intention to depart from Old Trafford will be good news for the Norwegian and the club’s fanbase, while being a blow for the likes of Real Madrid and PSG, who want to secure his services.
