PSG are reportedly plotting a summer move to sign Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by French outlet Le 10 Sport, N’Golo Kante is the subject of interest from PSG, who are eager to bolster their midfield in the summer transfer window. The Ligue 1 champions believe the French midfielder could be open to leaving Chelsea, with his relationship with Maurizio Sarri not being strong.

Kante has arguably been the most influential signing made by Chelsea since Eden Hazard, having arrived from Leicester City a Premier League winner in the summer of 2016. The French international continued that winning momentum at Stamford Bridge, as the Blues returned to the summit of English football in May 2017.

Kante was subsequently adjudged the PFA Player of the Year, and has continued to remain one of Chelsea’s best players even though the West Londoners have not challenged for the title since they last won it. And, his status as one of the best midfielders in the world seems to have attracted PSG, who were also reportedly in the hunt for him last summer.

The situation at PSG is quite simple. The French champions are set to lose out on the services of Adrien Rabiot, who looks primed to run his current deal out before testing the Bosman ruling in the summer. And, as has been exposed in the current season, with the Frenchman benched indefinitely, injuries have taken a toll on Les Parisiens’ midfield.

Replacing Rabiot is thus, imperative, despite the addition of Leandro Paredes last month, with Marco Verratti and Christopher Nkunku the only other viable options at Thomas Tuchel’s disposal. With that in mind, PSG have turned their attention towards Chelsea, with Le 10 Sport stressing that Kante is their top target.

The report also adds that Kante does not enjoy the strongest of relationships with current Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri, who has played him in an alien position this season. Le 10 Sport also claim that Kante could be open to calling it quits at Stamford Bridge, despite the fact that he pledged his long-term future to the Blues back in November.

And, the player’s potential desire to leave Chelsea has attracted PSG, who have reignited their interest in the 27-year-old. While it goes without saying that Kante will be a fine addition to the Ligue 1 champions’ midfield, it remains to be seen if the Premier League heavyweights are ready to part ways with their star man, or if they fight to keep hold of him.
