Real Madrid are reportedly keeping tabs on Barcelona target Luka Jovic, who has been in fiery form on loan at Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt.

Spanish publication AS are of the opinion that Real Madrid are still keeping tabs on the situation surrounding Luka Jovic. The SL Benfica star is currently on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt and is also on the radar of other top clubs like Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

Luka Jovic has taken Bundesliga by storm after moving to Eintracht Frankfurt on a two-season loan in 2017. The first season was decent, with Jovic recording average numbers of 8 goals in 22 league matches and a trophy in the form of the German Cup. The ensuing season though, has seen the 21-year-old reach new heights, recording 13 goals and 4 assists in 17 Bundesliga matches thus far.

Another 5 in 6 Europa League games and Jovic has become the toast of Bundesliga, with Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid all interested in a future move for the player. The interest has not waned despite reports of Eintracht Frankfurt being prepared to exercise the buy option which is around the €10 million mark, a meagre amount for an in-form striker like Jovic.

Real Madrid have been struggling in all departments. But, what has hurt the most is the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo. With no ready replacement available within the squad and Gareth Bale not able to step up to fill the gaping hole, Real have not had anywhere near the success they had under Zinedine Zidane.

Barcelona are now on a genuine lookout for a striker to act not just as a substitute or cover for Luis Suarez, but as an actual replacement in the near future. Many names have come up, including that of Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah. But, the Egyptian is unlikely to even listen to an offer which in anyway does not ensure a key status in the first-team setup.

For Jovic though, the situation is clear. The 21-year-old has three of the absolute best European teams vying for his signature while he virtually has a deal in place to be a Bundesliga player permanently once his loan period expires.

Real Madrid have other priorities to fill up the striker role and other attacking areas as well, with Eden Hazard, Christian Eriksen, Harry Kane and Marcus Rashford all ahead of Jovic on the list. For Jovic, this is all positive, but he is likely to just focus on finishing the 2018-19 campaign strongly first and then digress on the interest and offers he might receive in the summer.
